If the build plate is too far away from the nozzle your 3D-print might not stick to the build plate. Equally, if you adjust the build plate too close to the nozzle, the build plate can block the filament from extruding from the nozzle. It can also scratch the build plate.

For this process connect the machine to computer using the provide USB cord and use Repetier as the interface software.

  • Open Repetier window and click on connect printer icon, once connected it will turn green

  • Go to manual control and click on home all button as shown in the above image

  • Take Z axis to 10 mm, X axis to 50mm and Y axis to 50mm

  • Use stick-on note paper (for the right thickness) and make sure you fold it once to have double thickness of the paper and place it right below the nozzle tip and then click on Z home button highlighted in the below image

  • Once Z homing is done try to push or pull the paper under the nozzle, the paper should slide in and out easily such that it should not be too tightto tear the paper neither too loose that it slides off very easily, You should be able to feel the nozzle presence at top end of the paper

  • Adjust the wing nut accordingly

  • Now set the position of X: 200 Y: 50 and Z axis at 10mm

  • Use  stick-on note paper (for the right thickness) and make sure you fold it once to have double thickness of the paper and place it right below the nozzle tip and then click on Z home button highlighted in the below image

  • Once Z homing is done try to push or pull the paper under the nozzle, the paper should slide in and out easily such that it should not be too tight to tear the paper neither too loose that it slides off very easily, You should be able to feel the nozzle presence at top end of the paper

  • Adjust the wing nut accordingly

  • Similarly repeat the procedure by changing the XY position X: 200, Y: 200 and Z axis at 10 mm and adjust wing nut accordingly

  • Lastly adjust XYZ position X:50 , Y:200 and Z at 10 mm and adjust wing nut

  • Now again Take Z axis to 10 mm, X axis to 50mm and Y axis to 50mm and adjust wing nut present at the base plate

  •  Do a calibration print and observe if the layers are sticking to the build platform uniformly

NOTE:

  • Make sure you adjust that wing nut which is always present below the nozzle.

  • After transportation you might want to level your build plate to ensure your 3D prints stick well to the build plate.
